For years, Ethereum has been facing problems with the overload of the network. If the update of recent years has enabled the entire scalable ecosystem to build a 2 ecosystem, it has been done at the expense of the 1st layer to meet more and more urgent criticism, the Ethereum and Vitalik Buterin Foundation have now decided to make any efforts to perform the last. The new Optimump2P function currently in Testnet will undoubtedly be an asset to increase network performance and communication between nodes.

  • Ethereum must be restored to escape vampires according to layers 2.
  • Optimump2P: A novelty that must save Ethereum from overload.

Ethereum must be renewed to escape vampires by layers 2

Since 2021, the Ethereum network regularly has problems with network overload, which leads to high transaction costs or slowing. These scalability problems caused the Ethereum killer as Avalanche and Solana to offer a much more scalable blockchains and took advantage of the previous bull running.

Unfortunately, for them, Vitalik Buterin very soon planned solutions in the Ethereum plan and one of them consists in implementing layers of layers.

The new Ethereum architecture, focused on modularity, improved layer 2 thanks to improving the data availability layer with block implementation.

However, the success of Layers 2 led to Layer 1, which is much less usable by users used to fast transactions. In addition, layers 2 captured most of the network revenue.

Many critics focused on Vitalik buterin and the Ethereum Foundation have aroused uncertainties about the ETH price. Vitalik has therefore decided to re -focus the Ethereum plan to improve layer performance 1. Among the problems to be solved, the current work focuses on the slowness of promoting information between nodes.

Optimump2P: News that must improve communication between nodes

Communication between nodes is often a source of overload, often neglected in the axes of blockchains. Currently, the Ethereum nodes are actually communicating with each other through Gossipsipsub, the Peer -To -Po communication protocol. Unfortunately, this protocol creates a redundancy because the nodes are spreading their information in all directions and therefore the node can receive the same information several times.

The network layer is largely based on traditional “gossip” approaches that use decentralized access to the spread of messages between nodes.

Muriel Médard, what -founder and CEO of Optimum

Optimum and MIT have therefore created a new communication protocol, Optimump2P to fix this defect. The idea of this protocol is to send information by the package so that the nodes can rebuild it as soon as they receive enough packages.

Meanwhile, this protocol has been tested by several important Ethereum validators, which concentrates 14 % of the network storage. This test shows that even if a lot of information is spreading in the network, there is a ten times higher performance.

After improved Ethereum layers, the new Optimump2P feature focuses on updating the network layer and communication between nodes. Currently, in Testnet, Optimump2P could give a new youth layer of 1 Ethereum in the coming months.
